1.0 SCOPE:

1.1

This specification covers requirements for a armored direct burial shielded multiconductor cable designed to send signals, or power from field controllers and sensing devices back to a central controller or computer, utilizing stranded UL listed PVC/nylon insulated conductors UL listed type TFN cabled with fillers, having an aluminum shield and drain wire to drain off electrical, magnetic or RF interference, and a .005" stainless steel helically wrapped armor over the core and a direct burial sunlight resistant PVC Jacket overall. This cable is rated at 600 volts and offers complete protection against gophers and other rodents.

NOTE: For use on Toro Control Systems in areas where gopher protection is necessary.

Conductors:
Stranded soft annealed tin coated copper conforming to ASTM-B-3 and B-8.

Insulation:
Polyvinyl Chloride and nylon conforming to UL Type TFN rated 90ºC dry and 75ºC wet.

2.5	Cable Assembly:
	Insulated conductors are cabled with fillers to ensure roundness.
2.6	Shield: A 2 mil aluminum backed polyester shielding with a #16 AWG solid tinned copper drain wire in contact with the aluminum side with a 25% minimum overlap.
2.7	Armor: A .005" x .500" type 304 stainless steel tape is helically wrapped around the core with a minimum of 25% overlap.
2.8	Jacket: Sunlight resistant PVC conforming to ICEA S-61-40, NEMA WC5 and UL 1277. Nominal thickness .050".
2.9	Surface Print: Paige P7162D-A No. of conductors size 600V shielded and armored direct burial type TC (UL), Tuf-hide^®. On opposite side ink print sequential footing.
