Drip Irrigation Pressure Regulators
Q. Do I need a pressure regulator? - Yes! Most household pressure is around 40 to 60 psi. Drip irrigation systems operate in the 20 to 30 psi. Excessive pressure can cause fittings and emitters to blow off the tubing. Follow the instructions in the design section to determine your water sources pressure.
Drip Irrigation Pressure Regulators: aka Pressure Reducers: A Drip Irrigation Pressure Regulator reduces household water pressure to a lower set pressure for use
with a drip irrigation system. All drip irrigation components are designed to operate between 10 to 30 psi. Without a Drip Irrigation Pressure Regulator, drip emitters, sprayers and tubing may be damaged due to excess pressure in the drip irrigation system. Drip Irrigation Pressure Regulators need to be installed after the drip irrigation filter. Pressure Regulators are not designed to operate under static pressure and must be installed after any valves, timers or faucets to operate properly. Irrigation Direct offers pressure regulators in either Hose Thread or Pipe Thread connections.*
*Hose Threads and Pipe Threads are not compatiable. Be sure when ordering that all of the water source connections are either Hose Thread to Hose Thread connections or Pipe Thread to Pipe Thread connections. Most standard household faucets come with Hose Threads.
