Drip tape tubing is a thin walled dripline that is used in the agricultural industry as a more economical and efficient method to water row crops. First known as “Dew Hose”, it was developed in the United Stated by Chapin Watermatic and available in various thicknesses for specific crops needs. Initially designed as a throw away product for farmers, its popularity has grown is the last decade with large garden hobbyist and now has trickled down to home owner backyard gardens.
Unlike traditional drip irrigation systems of solid poly drip tubing and external drip emitters, drip tape emitters are installed as the tubing is extruded and fused into the inner wall of the drip tape. It’s available in either 8” or 12” emitter spacing in both 8mil and 15mil tubing thickness.

Because drip tape is a thin walled tubing, it’s designed to operate at a much lower pressure and requires filtration of 200 mesh or higher. Drip tape fittings are used exclusively with drip tape and are designed to give you various connections options.
