250 Series Solid Poly Micro Tubing – DD-DH250
The 250 series solid poly micro tubing from Irrigation Direct is used with drip irrigation for main and lateral water lines. It has a .250 outside diameter and a .170 inside diameter giving the tubing a .040 wall thickness.
Its recommended operating pressure is 10 - to 30 psi with its maximum pressure of 50 psi. Its maximum flow rate is 30 gallons per hour. It’s manufactured from high quality polyethylene resigns and UV inhibitors. With proper care and maintenance, poly tubing can last for up to 8 years. Mulching over tubing will extend the tubing’s life.
Because of its smaller size, Micro tubing has its limitations. When using micro tubing as both main and lateral water lines. No single tubing run can exceed a total of 50 feet.
When using micro tubing as a lateral off of ½” or ¾” solid poly tubing, the same restrictions apply
Solid poly micro tubing from Irrigation Direct comes in several lengths. There’s our 50ft, 100ft, and 1000ft rolls.
The 250 series micro tubing uses either the 250 barbed series of fittings.
Before Installing, it’s best to let your drip tubing sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes. This softens the tubing and allows it to unroll for easier installation.
If you only need short lengths of micro tubing, it’s best to leave one zip tie attached to the roll. This helps to keep the tubing from unraveling.
For longer lengths, start by using a tubing holder stake or heavy object to keep the tubing in place. Then unroll the tubing as you would roll a tire. This helps to help keep the tubing from spiraling and causing kinks.
Once unrolled, use tubing holder stakes at 5 to 10 foot intervals to secure the tubing in place.
Now your tubing is ready to be attached to Drip Emitters, Micro Sprays or Drip Tubing.
The 250 series solid poly micro tubing is just one of many professional irrigation products available from Irrigation Direct
