Fittings - Compression
Drip Irrigation Compression Fittings: Drip Irrigation Compression fittings are among the most common connection style fittings used in Drip Irrigation systems to connect sections of either 1/2" or 3/4" solid drip irrigation tubing or soaker hose dripline. Drip Irrigation Compressing fittings work by way of an internal compression ring that squeezes the outside diameter of the drip tubing as it is inserted into the drip irrigation fitting. The angle of the compression fitting ring bites into the soft tubing to prevent it from slipping off and also creates a water tight seal. Drip Irrigation Compression fittings are more of a permanent connection and are not recommended for reuse. Irrigation Direct manufacturers drip irrigation compression fittings in several sizes and all are color coded 
for easy identification. Common sizes are 620, 700, 710 and 940.
Green compression rings indicate .620 OD size for Raindrip tubing
Black compression rings indicate .700 OD size drip tubing
Blue compression rings indicate .710 OD size drip tubing
Gray compression rings indicate .940 ¾” OD size drip tubing
Glue or lubricants are not required with compression fittings
