710 SERIES COMPRESSION END CAP: DD-EC710
The 710 series compression end cap from Irrigation Direct is used with drip irrigation for capping off the ends of half inch solid tubing or drip emitter tubing. The end cap unscrews for easy flushing and draining of your drip irrigation system.
When installing, be sure to match up the drip tubing you are using to the correct compression fitting. 710 tubing uses the 710 fittings.
Look for the blue compression ring at end of the fitting. The blue ring indicates 710 size.
Installing a compression end cap is quick and easy.
To begin, simply cut your drip tubing with a pair of clippers or scissors at the desired location where you want the end cap installed. Make a straight cut across the pipe to ensure a tight fit. Use your thumb as a guide or score a mark on the tubing with your finger nail about 1 inch up from the end. Insert your drip tubing into compression end and press inward, rocking the pipe and fitting back and forth. Push until one inch of tubing is inserted into the End Cap.
When installing in cold weather, it helps to dip the tubing in warm water for a few minutes to soften the ends.
Compression fittings make a very tight seal and are difficult to pull apart. If you plan to reuse fittings or detach your drip tubing, use our Direct-Loc End Cap.
Direct-Loc fittings are perfect if you need to remove tubing for the winter.
Our most economical half inch hose-end fitting is the Figure 8, which crimps the end of the tubing.
Compression fittings come in several sizes and all are color coded for easy identification. Other common sizes are 620, 700, and for 3/4” drip tubing…the 940 series.
Green rings indicate 620 RainDrip tubing
Black rings indicate 700 drip tubing
Gray indicates 940 or 3/4” drip tubing
The EC710 end cap is just one in a full line of half inch compression fittings available from Irrigation Direct.
