¼ INCH BARBED CONNECTOR: DD-C250
The quarter inch barbed connector from Irrigation Direct is used with drip irrigation to connect two ends of quarter inch solid micro tubing or quarter inch soaker hose dripline. It will also connect 1/4" drip tubing to half or three quarter inch solid mainline poly tubing. As with all barbed fittings, no glue or lubricants are required.
Installing a barbed connector is quick and easy.
To begin, simply cut your drip micro tubing with a pair of clippers or scissors. Make a straight cut across the pipe to ensure a tight fit. Place your drip tubing over one end of the barbed connector and press over the barb.
When connecting ¼ inch micro tubing to ½ inch solid poly tubing, begin by holding the tubing between your thumb and forefinger, squeezing slightly. Cut a clean hole in the ½ inch tubing with our deluxe hole punch, which fits ergonomically in your hand. Press down with the hole punch and twist back and forth. Place one end of your quarter inch tubing onto one end of the barbed connector, then push the other end of the barbed connector into the ½ inch poly tubing until it snaps into place.
When installing in cold weather, it helps to dip the tubing in warm water for a few minutes to soften the ends.
To shut off sections or reduce the water flow through ¼” inch micro tubing or soaker hose, use our 1/4” inch flow control valve. It’s great for use with watering in planter boxes, raised beds, containers, and vegetable gardens.
To terminate the end of ¼” tubing, be sure to install a goof plug.
Install a bug plug when attaching 1/4” inch tubing to drippers or emitters to keep insects from crawling up into the tubing.
The quarter inch barbed connector is just one in a full line of quarter inch barbed fittings available from Irrigation Direct.
